The A.W. Perry Homestead Museum was once a part of this community when it served as a working farm until the 1950s; today it is a museum featuring exhibits on agriculture and local history. Located in downtown Carrollton, this museum preserves the history of one of Texas’ first settlers. You’ll be able to see the home he built in 1834 as well as many other historical artifacts from his life and era! If you’re traveling with kids or adults, there’s something for everyone at this family friendly attraction!

The Center for Visual Arts

The Center for Visual Arts (formerly known as the Carrollton Cultural Center) is a nonprofit art center that offers an array of classes and workshops in ceramics, sculpture, painting, and drawing with nationally recognized instructors from the Dallas/Fort Worth region. The CVA also hosts exhibits featuring regional artists on its gallery walls throughout the year. It continues to serve as a resource center where you can find out what’s going on in the arts community of North Texas. Browse through its collection of catalogs and books featuring artwork from regional artists. Or attend one of their monthly events, such as, poetry readings or art lectures, hosted by visiting authors or professors who come into town just to share their knowledge on all things related to creating visual art.

Formed in 1973, the Carrollton Symphony Orchestra is an amateur-level orchestra that performs for residents during their concerts held each year at First Baptist Church. The annual Christmas concert features a full orchestra with three soloists singing seasonal classics like “O Holy Night” and “Silent Night.” The Carrollton Civic Theatre is another important part of Carollton’s musical community. It hosts musicals, plays and other productions throughout the year at its venue at 328 East McWilliams Road.
